Description BendPak has
been building benders for more than three decades, with a single overriding
priority - performance. Our assembly guys and R & D teams are constantly
testing each model as it comes off the assembly line to make sure that no
corners are cut. Each phase of production is scrutinized by team leaders
whose only responsibility is to make sure that everything works and works
right. No, we’re not the only bender manufacturer out there. There are
others, but not as dedicated and well respected.
- Quick-Change Bending Dies - Who has time to
waste? Especially when you have a car in the air and others lined
up. When we first came up with the idea of twist-lock tooling and
quick-change bending dies others said it wouldn’t work. Well it did,
and it still does. In fact it still does so well that others copied.
Imitation really is the best form of flattery.
- 180-Degree Bending Capacity - You say you have
to bend deep. Well, how does a U-shape sound? Be sure to ask for our
180-Degree dies if you’re planning to bend more than 170 degrees.
You’ll get perfect deep bends on a 5” radius without the pipe
sticking or hanging up. That’s because we use an exclusive relief
cut design on our bending dies that helps maintain the pipes
uniformity throughout the bend cycle and eliminates excessive
“crimping” or deformation.
- 3” Bending Capacity - We’ve purposely built 3”
bending capacity into every BendPak bender so that you can order
three inch dies when you need them. Our three inch bending dies are
a fine example of our commitment to quality. Sure there heavy, but
take a close look at their design. We took ordinary bending dies and
made them not so ordinary. No other manufacturer uses this exclusive
step-cut process for the die rails that actually helps contain the
larger size tubing better and gives you a more uniform bend. Not
only can you bend three inch tubing but we’ve made it possible for
you to expand it and flare it as well. We have all the dies you need
to make your big tubing jobs small ones.
- Long Stroke Bending Cylinder - Because every
BendPak bender is equipped with an extended top cylinder, you no
longer need to use pusher block extensions when bending with small
radius dies. Also, because the 14” top cylinder can be retracted
further, additional clearance is provided for changing dies or
removing bent tubing.
- BAS Three-Button Control - An automatic control
board which is safely enclosed within the front upright of the
bender is located up front for operator convenience. The GREEN
button is used for full automatic bending functions, the BLUE button
for initiating an automatic return sequence and the RED button for
automatic stop. The depth-of-bend plate is equipped with an
adjustable slide pointer that can be preset to stop at any desired
bend depth.
- Clampless Swager - All BendPak benders are
equipped with our exclusive Clampless Swager which puts out an
incredible force of over 30,000 pounds for quick and precise end
forming. The Clampless Swager provides rapid set-up time and a high
degree of accuracy for both I.D. and O.D. expansions, slip-fits,
flares, ball-joints, reductions, and manifold flanges. All tooling
is quick release. Take a close look at the clamp assembly. What you
don’t see is a cumbersome, antiquated vise assembly to secure the
tubing in the clamp area. What you do see is good old fashioned
American ingenuity at it’s finest. The narrow hinged collars simple
drop into position and allow you to flare tubing ends as close as 3”
from a bend. Don’t worry about the clamps slipping either. The more
pressure you put on the clamps the tighter they grip.
- Internal Segment Expander - Our internal
segment expander is just as unique as our Clampless Swager and can
be used for both I.D. and O.D. expansions, slip-fits, flares,
ball-joints, and manifold flanges. Our buttress canister has a
single position setting for all I.D. expansions but can also be
adjusted for special sizing requirements. A single arbor is used for
all tubing sizes 1-1/2” - 3”.
- Electric Foot Switch - An independent remote
foot switch allows you to perform manual bending operations standing
in front of the bending head or up to 4 feet away. Having the
convenience of remote operation is an added plus when handling
larger tubing. Switches are industrial grade quality and covered for
your protection.
With BendPak’s exclusive “Clampless Swager” and Internal Expander, you can
easily perform all of end finishing operations with ease. Reducing, Internal
Swaging, Flares, Flat Flares, Ball Joints, Male Ball Joints, Female Sockets,
Double Donut-Type Flares, and more. All tooling is quick release. Our
1502 models are equipped with both the clampless swager and segment expander
with dual separate control handles. BendPak’s exclusive “Clampless Swager”
and Internal Expander allow you to easily perform all end finishing
operations with ease. Reducing, Internal Swaging, Flares, Flat Flares, Ball
Joints, Male Ball Joints, Female Sockets, Double Donut-Type Flares, and
more. All tooling is quick release.
- Industrial-Grade Hydraulic Cylinders –
Integrated into every BendPak bender are commercial-grade hydraulic
cylinders that feature one-piece, pilot fitted, machined steel
pistons wrapped with specially designed, pressure loaded U-cup
piston seals, backups and wear bands that virtually eliminates any
fluid bypass. Our micro-smooth chrome-rods are machined from high
yield, ground & polished C-1045/50 micro-alloy steel then plated to
a minimum of .001˝ diametrically, to ensure superior cylinder
operation and life. Specially designed, high durometer, mechanically
loaded rod seals virtually eliminate rod seal leakage and a
specially formulated abrasion resistant urethane rod wiper provides
exclusion protection. Our welded cylinder bodies are made from high
yield-strength steel tubing produced to exceed ASTM specifications.
This combination of superb base material and superior design ensures
straight, smooth and long duty life cylinders.
- Durable Powder Coat Finish – All Tubing Benders
feature a durable powder coat finish that gives the metal a
high-quality, extremely durable finish which can withstand even the
harshest environmental or chemical conditions. Unlike other
companies that claim to powder coat, we take pride in our meticulous
10-step process. First, all parts are visually inspected then
sandblasted. After, the parts are washed in our five-stage phosphate
tanks that can accommodate parts up to 25’ long. Once cleaned,
they’re immediately dried, to avoid rust production then outgassed.
Outgassing is a process we take pride in which pre-bakes the parts
in a curing oven, reducing the possibility of blemishes that may be
hiding in the pores of the metal. If not properly outgassed,
imperfections in the metal may bubble during the curing process and
most likely cause chips in the powder. After the parts are washed
and outgassed, any surfaces and/or threaded holes that need to be
masked or plugged are done so with high-temperature masking tape and
silicone plugs. Next, the parts are given a quick thinner wipe to
remove any light debris or fingerprints then hung on an
electrostatically grounded conveyor line. The powder is then applied
using an electrostatic spray gun. The powder “sticks” to the parts
similar to how dust sticks to a television screen. Once the parts
are powder coated, the carts are rolled into our curing oven and
baked at 400 degrees for 15 for 45 minutes.
Our computer exhaust bend data covers over 10,000 applications. The
simple computer program system guides you step-by-step when fabricating
original equipment exhaust and tailpipes. Coverage includes domestic and
light trucks as far back as 1965.
